Coach with Balls Player who can be positioned within a position relevant to their playing position

Key Points

- Locate ball at pace (intent) - Secure the ball with quality - Dribble at pace upon regain - 'Punched' pass or Shot depending on players position

Progressions to Add

- Add mannequin into the area for players to move around or have coach moving to create pressure (game realism) - Add in competition element where passes or shots count and players need to complete a minimum amount with success

Summary

Aim of the session is to get players into good habits of locating a loose ball at pace. Securing possession and then being able to move with the ball under control at pace before performing the next action (pass or shot)

Board to Board Passing

Football 2 x players or player plus coach

Key Points

- Punched pass (board to board) - Movement to get in line to receive - First touch to get ball out of feet - Attack along the board at speed - Punch Pass back across (board to board)

Progressions to Add

- Add mannequinn's into the area in positions where opposition may be placed as a target to avoid

Summary

Aim of the session is to get players into good habits of punching passes from board to board to help with switch of play and to exploit space on the opposite side of the pitch. Players to work both passing and receiving skills.

Session can be done with 1 player or 3 players plus a coach Set up as stations if doing as part of individual programme

Key Points

Station 1 : Board Work Station 2 : Board Support Station 3 : Flat Switch Work on detail and consistency within each station

Progressions to Add

Depending on numbers in session, could combine all three elements. If on an individual session, worked for timed durations and work both right and left side (2 - 3 min blocks)
